Quick Links
The study of languages, literatures, and cultures helps students communicate across differences and better understand the experiences and perspectives of others. UConn courses offered through UConn ECE encompass spoken and signed languages, ancient and modern societies, literary traditions, and cultural expression. Across these disciplines, students strengthen communication, interpretation, and critical-thinking skills while developing the cultural awareness needed to engage thoughtfully in an interconnected world.
To help students explore UConn courses offered through UConn ECE, academic disciplines are organized into the same six broad categories used for UConn ECE Student Scholarships. These groupings highlight connections among fields and make it easier for students to discover courses aligned with their interests, goals, and potential areas of future study. Students interested in applying for a scholarship should review the full eligibility and application requirements.
