UConn Early College Experience program fees are $50 per registered course credit.

By registering for a UConn course through UConn ECE, students have a financial obligation to the University of Connecticut. Students are financially responsible for all courses for which they enroll and are subject to billing policies similar to those used for all UConn students.
Delivery
Course consent and payment requests (if payment is applicable) are e-mailed or texted directly to the parent/guardian listed in the student application upon (1) successful submission and (2) high school approval of the student registration request. Parent/guardian consent and payment are requested via e-mail or text per course request. (e.g.: if a student requests enrollment in two UConn courses, the parent/guardian will receive a consent and payment request per course).
Failure to receive a parent/guardian consent and payment request does not absolve you of the responsibility of payment. Contact the UConn ECE Program Office with concerns.
Payment
Parent/guardian consent and payment are due upon receipt of the e-mailed or texted request. Payments must be made using the unique link provided in the consent and payment request. Accepted forms of payment are credit card or e-check.
Unpaid Balances
Students will not be eligible for UConn credit and registration requests will be canceled if balances go unpaid after the specified deadline in the consent and payment request. Students can view the status of their registration request and payment by viewing their profile at UConn.DualEnroll.com and can request a consent and payment notification be resent if necessary. Outstanding balances may result in the eventual removal of credit and grades from unpaid coursework on a non-degree transcript.
University standard policies on late fees, returned checks, and collections will apply.
Program Fee Waivers
Students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals or free milk in accordance with the Income Guidelines for the National School Lunch Program or deemed “categorically eligible” (e.g., SNAP, TANF, homeless etc.) are eligible for a full program fee waiver. Students attending private schools may also be eligible for fee waivers and should reach out to their Site Representative for additional information and guidance.
During the registration process, students will indicate their status of eligibility for Federally Subsidized Meal Programs, which in turn will be confirmed by the designated high school Site Representative. Students attending a private school (any non-public school) who receive a need-based reduction of tuition (a need-based scholarship) from their high school will receive a UConn ECE fee waiver for all courses. Eligibility for the private school waiver must be confirmed by the Site Representative.
Billing Policies

Refunds of previously paid fees will be issued to students who paid for and then dropped a course online by October 16, 2025 and February 6, 2026 for spring courses. Payment processing fees are not refundable. Students are responsible for all program fees for courses dropped after October 16, 2025 and February 6, 2026 respectively.
Refunds will be processed by DualEnroll in October and November for courses dropped by October 16, 2025, and March for spring courses dropped by February 6, 2026. Refunds needed due to extenuating circumstances will be processed at one of the following three scheduled times over the course of the year: January, March, and July. Payments are refunded to the original payment method used. If payment cannot be successfully returned to original payment method due to expiration or account closure, a refund will be processed by the University. Refunds issued by the University will be by check, and made payable to the Student. Refund checks will be mailed to the address on file for the Student.
In the event a Student is issued a refund in error, the University reserves the right to reclaim such funds.
Failure to pay program fees will result in a “Bursar hold” on a Student’s UConn record. This hold prevents Students from accessing services such as course registration, library services, transcripts, and other important services.
Form 1098-T is a statement that provides the total dollar amount paid to a student account for what is referred to as qualified tuition and related expenses in a single tax year. This information is helpful in determining whether a Student or parent/guardian is eligible for tax benefits associated with tuition payments. A Student’s status as a minor or high school student does not affect Form 1098-T reporting (IRS Notice 2006-72, Q-2). Form 1098-T will be available to students electronically on or before January 31 through the Student Administration System.

Students who were enrolled in a UConn course through UConn ECE in the 2020-2021 academic year and/or earlier are bound to the policies listed below.
2020-2021 Billing Deadlines: Fall & Full-year- November 7, 2020, Spring – January 8, 2021
Students and Authorized Users are notified by e-mail when their e-bill is ready to be viewed. Payment can be made online, by mail, or in person. Failure to receive an e-mail bill notification does not absolve Students of the responsibility of payment by the due date.
Students have 24/7 access to view any term fee bill by accessing their student account in the Student Administration System.
Late Fee Policy & Appeal
A $50 late fee will be charged for each semester that a bill is not paid in full by the posted fee bill due date. Checks returned by the bank for any reason are considered a late payment. Additionally, students will have services denied, such as course registration, if all fees have not been paid by the due date. To appeal a late fee, students must submit a Late Fee Appeal Form online. Only one late fee can be appealed per student during their tenure in the UConn ECE Program.
Returned Check Policy & Appeal
A $25 non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee will be charged for e-checks that are unable to be processed. To appeal a returned check fee, students must submit a Returned Check Appeal Form online.
Collections Policy
All UConn ECE Students no longer enrolled in UConn ECE courses who have outstanding charges on their accounts will be referred to the University Collections Office.
Refund Policy
Refunds of previously paid fees (minus the $25 administrative fee, if applicable) will be issued to students who paid for and then dropped a course online by the drop deadline. Students are responsible for all program fees for courses dropped after the drop deadline.
Refund checks will be issued by the University periodically, or a student can request a refund directly in the Student Administration System by following the refund request instructions. Refund checks are made payable to the student.
In the event a student is issued a refund in error, the University reserves the right to reclaim such funds.
